Chloe, Chair of the Regional Learning Disabilities Group says:

“I am so incredibly passionate about making a difference for people with learning disabilities. We need to be heard, and have the opportunity to live normal lives.

“Working in my job has lit a fire in my belly. I hope to make the difference so we have the same rights and life any other person would or could have.”

Throughout the five years we will be sharing updates on progress, and working co-productively with people who live and work in our communities to meet our ambitions.

Over one hundred people with learning disabilities have been involved in the development of these priorities.

They have been signed off by the Regional Learning Disabilities Group, of which has members who have learning disabilities, and is co-chaired by a person with a learning disability.

The priorities will be reviewed on an annual basis, and ongoing work will be implemented by both people with learning disabilities and professionals working co-productively.

Our Regional Learning Disabilities Group will now work together to identify actions needed to take these priorities forward. Three working groups will support this activity, and you can read their latest updates here.

We are always looking for people with lived experiences, carers and professionals to be involved in our work. You can sign up to our contact page, and also register to attend our events.
