In June, a hack-a-thon event brought together people with lived experiences, professionals and creative producers to plan and design a resource on a topic or issue that is important to them, as a way of raising awareness and finding innovative solutions for service improvement.
The hack-a-thon brought together people with a learning disability from across Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf alongside environmental enthusiasts and professionals to identify practical things people with a learning disability can do to be more environmentally friendly and help combat climate change.
On 5th July, we met people who took part in the hack-a-thon.
The showcase gave these people an opportunity to share their experience as well as launch their created resources with the aim of empowering their peers and evaluating the effectiveness of this engagement method.
